Old Family Photos 1: Henry, Roger, Norman Altenberg

In response to a request from cousin Nancy Kolodny, here are some old Altenberg family photos that cousin Lee Altenberg sent me a while ago, which he scanned from old prints.

Home in New England

I don’t mean to knock Santa Cruz; it’s a lovely wonderful place and it is home… but in my heart and memory —and I feel it in my bones— New England is home home, my roots.

Jody and I flew a red eye to Boston, arriving 7:30 am. Got the rental car (Ford C-Max hybrid) and meandered north, visiting Salem and Danvers for some “witch history” since Rebecca Towne Nurse and Mary Towne Esty —2 of the women hanged— were my aunts… I’d been to Salem a few times before, but never to the Rebecca Nurse Homestead, a few miles away in Danvers, MA.
